Team Yo Girl

Team Yo Girl is a pro-social, activity-based after-school program designed exclusively for young women. Offered once a week throughout the school year, this program provides a supportive space where participants can build confidence, form meaningful peer connections, and engage in physical activities in a comfortable and inclusive environment.

Recognizing that some young women may not have access to mixed-gender programs due to cultural or religious reasons, Team Yo Girl ensures that every participant has the opportunity to benefit from positive mentorship, personal growth, and a strong sense of community. Through structured activities, youth are empowered to embrace their potential, overcome challenges, and develop the skills needed to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

“Joe Calendino and the YBYG team have made a difference in the lives of many students. I have watched many troubled youth from our school and community become young, confident men and women, who are now mentoring their peers, taking on leadership roles, and thriving toward their preferred futures. They are part of the YBYG team, giving back to the community, and continuing to grow and learn as young adults.
