Your child has been invited to attend the program offered by Yo Bro | Yo Girl Youth Initiative (YBYG) in partnership with the Surrey School District. YBYG is an extra-curricular program for youth, and is offered to youth at no cost. Participation in the YBYG program in Surrey Schools is an exciting opportunity to connect with peers, participate in some physical activity and confidence building activities, and to develop leadership skills.
YBYG provides a pro-social recreational based program to enable youth to make safe and healthy choices, develop personal competencies, and strengthen their commitment to their education and community. Additionally, the program offers community connectedness, mentorship, and role modeling opportunities.
YBYG Staff will supervise and run the program, in partnership with the Surrey School District. YBYG staff will be will be following BC Ministry of Health and Surrey School District guidelines https://www.surreyschools.ca/covid19/healthsafety/Documents/Daily%20Health%20Check%20-%20English.pdf. Please do not send your child if they have any symptoms related to any respiratory diseases (such as the common cold, flu or covid-19). If they become ill or experience any symptoms while at the YBYG Program your child will not be able to participate in activities. Parents should provide contact information and be available to pick up their child immediately should their child become ill during the day.
